Parks for All. Paths for All. Seasons for All.
I am Averi M. Turner, and I am an educator, community leader, and advocate for equity who has dedicated my career to creating opportunities where every voice is heard and every person feels they belong. I bring over six years of experience in K–12 education, leadership, and community engagement, work that has been centered on lifting up diverse voices, building safe and inclusive spaces, and ensuring young people have the tools to thrive.

I am running for a Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, At-Large Commissioner seat, because our parks are more than green spaces; they are gathering places, classrooms, and an essential part of our neighborhoods. I believe every resident deserves equitable access to our city’s parks, trails, green spaces, and water resources, no matter where they live or who they are. Access to these natural resources is not a luxury; it is a right, and it is essential for the health and vitality of ourselves and the city of Minneapolis.

My campaign is guided by a simple vision: Parks for All. Paths for All. Seasons for All. That means advancing equity and cultural representation in programming, creating career pipelines for youth, partnering with community organizations and small businesses, preparing our recreation system for all seasons, and ensuring community-led design in habitat restoration.

I believe parks should reflect the people of Minneapolis—diverse, vibrant, and resilient. With your support, I will bring my experience, energy, and commitment to making sure our parks remain a place where everyone feels at home and has equal opportunity to enjoy our shared green spaces and waters.
